About Logcroft
Logcroft is for people who own a wood-burning or multi-fuel stove, or want one. We help you choose the right size, burn dry wood well, buy and store logs, keep the stove and chimney maintained, and compare the cost with your other heating. Honestly, with the working shown.
How we work
- Every calculator shows its formula, the figures it starts from and where they come from, and you can change any of them.
- Stove output and efficiency always come from your stove's spec plate or listing, and prices always come from you.
- We explain the rules on smoke control, Ecodesign, Ready to Burn and CO alarms and link the official pages. We never tell you an appliance or fuel is allowed where you live: check with your council and the Defra exempt-appliance list.
- Installing a stove is notifiable building work. We explain what a HETAS-registered installer checks, never how to fit one.
- We don't test products, and we never say we have.
